Electronic Filter and Dust Shields

Description

Electronic filter and dust shields perform three functions:

• Provide a level of EMI attenuation if required
• Provide for the passage of cooling air
• Filter large dust particles from the airflow

The units are assembled from three layers of corrugated aluminium mesh, so aligned that they provide maximum dust trapping effectiveness, yet cause reasonably low resistance to air movement.

The filter material is contained in a rigid aluminium frame of C channel section which is available in various styles. To retain and protect the filter media, a kick plate is incorporated into the frame.

These types of filters have an added benefit of being washable, therefore re-useable.

Application

These units are designed for use in mechanically demanding applications at low to medium airflow rates. They are ideal for industrial environments where a combined dust filter and RF seal is required. pan>

Due to the dust screen component, the filters require a forced draught for efficient operation.

Shielding Effectiveness

Shielding Effectiveness Tests were performed in accordance with MIL STD 285, using ventilation panels 300mm square.
